Description Walk into Muir Woods, one of the oldest federally protected areas in the United States. Established in 1908 Muir Woods is the only surviving stand of Old Growth forest in the Bay Area and is the home to Coast Redwoods, some of the largest trees in the world. Be amazed as you walk among these giants. Once you're done walking the woods, travel down to Sausalito as part of your day trip and enjoy this charming Mediterranean-style seaside village which is home to some of the wealthiest people in the country.
